A high-caliber competition, St. Anthony’s Triathlon is one of the United States’ premier multi-sport events. It is held the same weekend as the Sprint Triathlon and Meek & Mighty Triathlon, two USA Triathlon (USAT)-sanctioned races, and typically features a 1.5k swim, 10k run, and 40k bike portion. St. Anthony’s Triathlon is the first big race of every triathlon season. It welcomes athletes from over 40 states and has been a qualifier race for the Ironman Triathlon World Championship.
St. Anthony’s Triathlon is held in St. Petersburg, Florida, along the city’s scenic waterfront. Racers must either be a USAT member or purchase a one-day license when registering for the race, and check in with a valid photo identification on the day of the race. All participants receive a wristband indicating their race number. After the race has been completed, there is an awards presentation, along with food and live music.
